(Guide) How to unpack a scene release

Note: This does not apply to movies. I dont see many people asking about unpacking movies so im not going to include it.

Step 1 , download the file. If you didnt know that stop reading here and kill yourself. After you download it extract it from the first archive.

Step 2 , i guess this is where people have problems , anyways heres what to do , after the first extraction you will get something that looks like this:

As shown in the pic you want to highlight all the archives and right click , you will get a menu like this:

In the above menu you want to click extract here. After its done unpacking you will have something like this:

Step 3 , now right click the first archive out of the new archives you have just extracted , or highlight them all again if you want , right click again and select extract here and your done:

If your asked to overwrite anything you can say yes or no its up to you , it just overwriting the file_id and nfo files.

Now , there are releases that arent packed the same way and extracting them is slightly different.

Heres what to do for some of those:

Step 2 , after the first extraction you will get something that looks like this:

As shown in the pic you want to highlight all the archives and right click , you will get a menu like this:

In the above menu you want to click extract here. After its done unpacking you will have something like this:

Step 3 , now you will have .001 to however many files there are. A lot of people think you need to join the archives or use 7zip on these. Well they are wrong. You want to right click the first archive , in this case its setupengpro.001 which if you associate WinRAR with this file type will appear as setupengpro as it does in the pic and you will get this menu again:

Select open or open with RAR (may have to choose that program out of list if RAR isnt associated with this file type , yeah , its incompetent) and you will get this:

Here select extract to and this menu will come up:

Now you can decide where to unpack it if you want and then just click ok and it will extract properly:

Giving you the file. There , not that hard. Now you can delete all the archives if you want or whatever.

Hopefully this helps a few of you. And to anyone it confuses more then they already were , sorry , thats why i dont normally make guides.
